Random Thoughts 2 ...

We visited a glacier (details to follow) yesterday and saw a group gearing up for a climb.  I wished them luck, but they must have misunderstood me because they all turned around and mooned me ??


Our resident geologist with an inpromptu discussion of glacial formations. Peter was a fantastic resource for us, knowledgable and entertaining.


Up until the mid-sixteenth century and under Danish rule, Iceland was a Catholic country. The Icelandic Reformation established Lutheranism as the official state religion in 1550. Freedom of religion  was granted to all in 1874.


Iceland loves to install art in otherwise ordinary places for people to enjoy.  This was outside our highway lunch stop.
