Dettifoss and Selfoss

You may have figured out "foss" is Icelandic for "falls" and today included 3 extraordinary examples.

Glacial River National Park contains 2, Detti and Self. Dettifoss pours 200 tons of water per second over its cliff.

Hey, those two look familiar ...

Selfoss is no slouch either.

Getting to each of these required a decent hike over many rocks and some boulders. Geri joined me to the Selfoss viewpoint and started back to our bus. Of course, I wanted to get closer. After getting a few more pics, I started back thinking I had plenty of time - wrong.  Halfway back, Geri texted me from the bus saying our guide was counting heads before driving off but someone was missing - whoops.

I was the last one back and our group was NOT amused, all watching me run back through the rock field thru the bus windows. Some deserved scolding followed.
